Orders and timing
Are all products made to order?
Most pieces are made after you order. Any piece that is already finished is labeled "Ready to ship" on its product page.
How long will my order take?
Standard pieces take about [X–Y] business days to make before shipping. Engraved or personalized pieces take about [X–Y] business days. Shipping time is separate and depends on your address and the shipping method you choose at checkout.
Will my item look exactly like the photo?
Not exactly. Every piece is made from real wood, so grain, color, and figure vary. The photos show the style, shape, and finish you can expect. Your piece will be one of a kind.
How do I pay?
Checkout is handled by Stripe, a secure payment service. Each product's Buy button opens a Stripe checkout page where you enter your shipping address and payment details. You'll get a receipt by email right away.
Can I buy more than one piece at once?
You can choose a quantity at checkout. Pieces from different product pages are checked out separately for now. If you'd like several different pieces shipped together, contact Ed before ordering.
Wood, options, and personalization
Can I request a different wood species?
If a product lists wood choices, pick one on the product page. For a wood that isn't listed, contact Ed before ordering. Availability depends on what's in the shop.
Can I personalize or engrave my order?
Products that offer engraving say so on the product page, along with the character limit. You type the engraving on the checkout page. [ENGRAVING METHOD AND ANY EXTRA COST, if applicable.] Please check spelling carefully, since engraved pieces are made exactly as entered.
Can I place a custom order?
[CUSTOM ORDERS: e.g., Ed takes on a limited number of custom pieces when his schedule allows.] Send details through the contact form. Ed will review your request and reply before any work begins.
Food safety and care
Are the bowls food-safe?
[FOOD-SAFE STATEMENT: Ed to confirm the exact finish used and whether it is food-safe once fully cured. Do not publish a food-safe claim until confirmed.] Each bowl's product page lists its finish.
How should I care for my cutting board?
Hand wash with warm, soapy water and dry it right away, standing on edge. Don't soak it or put it in the dishwasher. When the surface looks dry or dull, rub in a thin coat of [RECOMMENDED OIL OR BOARD CONDITIONER], let it soak in, and wipe off the extra.
Gifts
Do you offer gift wrapping or gift messages?
Yes, gift messages: add one on the checkout page and Ed will include it on a card in the box. [GIFT WRAP OR GIFT BOX: describe if offered, or remove this sentence.]
Returns, damage, and shipping
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
[RETURN POLICY SUMMARY: e.g., standard pieces may be returned within [RETURN WINDOW] days in original condition; personalized and custom pieces are final sale, except where the law requires otherwise.] See the full returns and refunds policy.
What happens if my item arrives damaged?
Please contact Ed within [X] days of delivery with your receipt number and a photo of the damage and the packaging. He'll work with you on a repair, replacement, or refund. [CONFIRM REMEDY.]
Do you ship outside the United States?
[INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: e.g., Not at this time. EDS WoodWorx currently ships within the United States only.]
